Indication: Indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate bacterial infections, including respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue, eye, intestinal, and certain sexually transmitted infections caused by susceptible organisms. It is also used as an alternative for patients allergic to penicillin in selected infections, such as primary syphilis, and for the treatment or prevention of pertussis, diphtheria carriage, and chlamydial infections when appropriate.
